A stunning, classic, unheated Ceylon blue sapphire was mined in the Kuruvita area, cut & polished in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. The classic color and the flower cut (flower pavilion to be exact or modified Portuguese pavilion) are typical of the Sri Lankan cutters that decided to break away from traditional western cutting by shaping the pavilion, or lower part of the stone, with extra smaller facets to maximize brilliance opposed let's say a conventional step cut pavilion. Rare and charming, this is an excellent deal for the quality offered.
