Green is a rare & unique color for a sapphire. While the most famous and recognizable green gemstone is the emerald, other common green gemstones like tsavorite garnets, peridots, jades, green tourmalines are less known and yet have a characteristic green color. And so are green sapphires. They are unique with their greens. They range from a light yellowish or bluish green to darker steely greens, what could be called "mint ", "olive" and "green leaf" colors. 

In addition to the unique green hues, green sapphires still retain the luster and the durability of this versatile gemstone, and its green hues are usually more affordable than the blues or pinks colors of sapphires.
